Who are we?

The Millennium Project of Eastbourne Churches Together Eastbourne Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity GB
Habitat for Humanity is an international, interdenominational Christian charity, working in 87 countries. In 25 years, it has built 125,000 houses with and for families living in sub-standard housing, who are prepared to take a part in the work on site.

What we are doing? Assisting 2 families with self-build housing in Langney
What we offer? Building planning and supervision on site

Volunteer assistance
An interest-free mortgage on completion
"More than Houses".

This slogan embraces the aims of the charity beyond house building. They include:-

  • Rebuilding communities, through self-help, self-esteem and encouraging volunteers
  • Bringing the Church into the community it serves.
  • Encouraging Christians from different churches to work together in community care
    Highlighting housing needs.

Who can volunteer?
  • All with building skills.
  • All over 16 willing to give unskilled labour under supervision.
  • Fundraisers.
  • Those with community work experience.
  • Any willing to support this Christian outreach project in prayer.
The Business Community. Habitat for Humanity has much to offer the business community world-wide. Groups of executives from large organisations gain leadership experience and teamwork skills. Companies gain esteem and acceptability from community concern.
The Global Village Scheme allows businesses to send parties of their staff to work in poorer countries, for short periods. This scheme is highly valued in industry.
25 parties from Great Britain will go out this year.
